I got great value for my money at this beautiful lodge. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The location in the small town of San Francisco was perfect, surrounded by exquisite forest and animal life. The staff, especially Owen the tour guide, were amazing and made me feel welcome and well taken care of.
The morning meal could have been better with more options.

A hidden gem in the peaceful village of San Francisco, Chinitas is a lovely family-run guest house nestled in a beautiful location. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a good shower. The delicious breakfasts and dinners offered at a reasonable price are a treat. They also provide excellent wildlife and bird guides, perfect for nature enthusiasts. The location is ideal, allowing for easy access to Tortuguero and the national park. Plus, the table football and hammocks add a fun and relaxing touch to the stay. Definitely worth returning to!

The people at this place were absolutely amazing, making our stay unforgettable and mind-blowing! Heraldo and Ana Rita went above and beyond to organize boat rides, hidden hikes, and even a turtle-watching excursion. Our tour guide Alex Torres was jaw-droppingly fantastic, showing us animals and taking us on an incredible canal tour. We fell in love with the location, the lodge, and most importantly, the people. Thank you!

The tranquil and quiet environment surrounded by exquisite forest and animal life was a major highlight of our stay. We enjoyed being away from the touristy hustle and experiencing an authentic cultural immersion. The recommended tour guide provided an incredible wildlife experience, taking us away from the crowds and showing us hidden gems. the clean and comfortable accommodation, along with the option of using air conditioning, ensured a relaxing and comfortable stay.
The limited options for dining out, especially on certain days when not all restaurants were open. This meant that we had to eat out and there were limited choices.

The location of this eco lodge is incredible. It's just a short boat ride away from Tortuguero and the taxi boats are easy to arrange. Being right on the waterfront was a major plus, and watching the sunrise over the water was simply breathtaking. The village where the lodge is located is a charming and authentic local community with very few tourists. It was great to experience the traditional culture and we even found two fantastic restaurants within a short walk. Another highlight was the breakfast, with freshly cooked dishes and a variety of options.
The rooms were quite basic, but this was to be expected from an eco lodge in a remote jungle location. The flooring had some wear and tear, but overall it was clean and well-maintained.

We had an incredible stay at this family-run lodge in the middle of the jungle. the room was good and the staff were excellent. They were very knowledgeable and accommodating when it came to our tours. We did the canal tour with them and it was amazing! the owners and guides, Geraldo and Rita, were absolutely amazing. They helped us organize our own journeys and made sure we had a wonderful time. the location of the lodge is also perfect, isolated from the hustle and bustle of the main town. We loved exploring the nearby nature preserve and spotting monkeys, frogs, sloths, and birds. Cons: It was all superb! 😄.
